Purchasing Insurance & Applying for a Low-Income

Certificate

Medical Insurance for Overseas Students

  • Overseas students who are not yet eligible to enroll in the National Health Insurance (NHI) may join the International Student Medical Insurance. Office of International Affairs (OIA) will assist students with the enrollment process. However, please note that the coverage of the International Student Medical Insurance is limited. It is highly recommended that students purchase additional insurance in their home country to ensure better protection.
  • For more insurance information, please check Insurance for Overseas Student section.

Low-income Certificate (Overseas Chinese & HK/Macau Students Only)

  • If you have a “Low-Income Certificate,” please remember to bring it with you. Office of International Affairs at FCU will assist you in applying for the Financial Aid for Underprivileged Overseas Chinese Students and a 50% subsidy for National Health Insurance.

Purpose

  1. Apply for the Financial Aid for Underprivileged Students.
  2. 2. Apply for National Health Insurance Subsidy from the Overseas Community Affairs Council.
Note: If you provide a valid Low-Income Household Certificate, you may apply for this subsidy. Instead of paying the full National Health Insurance premium of NTD 826 per month, you will only be required to pay NTD 413 per month.
